I was being facetious as yes, they’re priced at the insane level. I thought BMW carbon prices were crazy and these came priced on par. I won’t lie though I do want the gills and hood vent. So im looking for a set of these to have my carbon fiber guy skin them for a significantly lower cost. Its just cosmetic anyways.

MarketingPardon my take but I don't understand the obsession with carbon fiber. Purpose wise it is intended to be light and rigid (but bad for submarines). In the after market world it seems to have taken on the characteristics of truffle oil, where you put it on everything. Why the obsession?
This 100%. There is no real value to it other than a highly marketed aesthetic.Marketing
It’s a differentiator. It’s expensive and clearly identifiable, so folks can see your car is more special/expensive. That’s why we don’t see a lot of hidden CF parts or painted CF parts.
I like the look of CF. But I feel the market has trained me to like the look.
