I attempted to turn off A.S.S. with Forscan for @Dgchurch on his 2024 Raptor yesterday and the change did not take. Digging into this it appears Ford programmed around this setting, apparently starting with model year 2023, but my only data point is his 2024.

I have a 2022 and mine was disabled via my Whipple tune. Also of note: the ProCal tune did not disable A.S.S. for his 2024. So no joy going that route.

In any case it appears the only way to permanently disable A.S.S. Is with a hardware pigtail that fools the programming. Available for $50-100.

Just documenting in case it helps someone down the road.

This is the least expensive option for disabling ASS —> https://a.co/d/euK1WhR

Interesting Ford is programming around it.

The first thing I put in my 23 was the Autostop Eliminator

It has worked flawless. I never even think about it.

I've got the fast twitch muscles in my left thumb automatically double tapping the "R" button at startup. This turns off the A.S.S. for the trip.

The reputable medical sites say I've mastered this through: Repetitive Practice, which improves reaction time by forming muscle memory, enhancing neural pathways and promoting anticipation. This leads to a more automatic and faster response, making actions more fluid and reducing the mental effort required.

Thanks for the product recos guys. Perhaps it is time to do what y'all are doing with a tech solution.

Let's hope the ability to switch off the A.S.S. remains a supported function of the "R" switch in the future.

AutoStop Eliminator for 2021+ Ford Bronco & Bronco Raptor
This is what I used in my 23 works well. It recalls the last state stays On/Off.
listed below is an install video

I can confirm Forscan programming on a 23 does not eliminate start/stop. With that said, since my last over the air update, my start/stop has changed the way it functions.

With a cold engine, I'd back out of the garage, drive to the end of the street (which is like 1/16th of a mile, maybe less) and stop before making a quick left-hand and then right hand turn in succession. Despite being cold, the engine would always shut off if I didn't hit the R button twice or turn it on of the center console. It no longer does that.

In fact, I can't think of the last time it kicked in. I may have to drive to work today in normal mode (savage!) and see if it kicks in anywhere. My "theory" is the update made changes to the start/stop coding which may have allowed the Forscan programming to actually work.

My AI overlord has been following my interest in this thread and dumped this useful article into my Google news feed…..

I went over that list in my head and I can say the changes started right after I had an over the airwaves update from Ford one night. I tested it on the way in to work and I had zero engine stops at any of the stoplights once I got off the highway. Car starts fine, no coolant smell, coolant temps have all been normal. The only change is the updated software from Ford.

I know it didn't override the Forscan changes as the horn doesn't beep when I exit the vehicle and shut the door with the engine running.
