Takes a 27mm 6 point socket, I use this Lisle 13320 Low Profile Filter Socket linked below.
When reinstalling the oil filter canister cap torque to 18 ft/lbs - 24 NM, this torque spec is also embossed on top of the cap. Over-torquing the oil filter canister can break the threads or split the filter canister or cap.
