New to this forum but not to the Braptor.

I wanted a winch that would fit with the stock bumper while NOT having to relocate the sensors nor front camera. Was introduced to the Maximus-3 removable winch plate and combined that with a Warn Zeon 12S Platinum.

The install had a couple bumps along the way but wasn’t hard at all. I did a YT video showing the winch plate install to include a couple of the necessary steps to make it work for the Braptor.
Also, the Warn Zeon 12S Platinum was NOT a direct fit to the mounting holes in the Maximus-3 winch plate. The 4 mounting legs on the winch where ~ 1/8” to 3/16” TOO wide for the plate so I had to extend the holes further out in the plate. Accomplished using jig saw with metal cutting blades.
So now I can simply see the winch in the front hooks whenever hitting the trails, and just as easy remove whenever doing normal street travel.

Thanks for the post and write up! I am in process of looking for a winch now. I just have not found the right one yet. Let us know how this works when you get a chance.

Are you planning to leave off for your normal driving and just throw on when you hit the trails?

Thanks and yes my plan is to only put on for the fun days on the trail and probably any days driving in snow (or at least keep in the back of the truck). The removable tray really makes it a 30 sec install/removal. As for the winch, I can’t wait to use it but hopefully we’ll be pulling someone else out vs ourselves lol. Everything all together was about $3,200 but at least I could install myself. The remote works flawlessly and having the ability to install/connect addition electronics to the winch (ie light bar) and control it from the remote makes it pretty cool.

Welcome to the forum @Breathright ! This is exactly the setup I’m planning to use. Honestly, I prefer the factory front bumper, and I don’t want the winch exposed to the elements when it’s not in use. I’ve had two Jeeps in the past with winches that I maybe used twice, and the sun and weather ended up destroying them—even though I kept them covered as much as possible. It just doesn’t make sense to me. Plus, adding the extra weight of an aftermarket bumper on a daily driver adds up with no real benefit.

By the way, I was the guy who mentioned the forum to you on Facebook.

Ditto on the reasons for a simple method for removing when not in use. I saw yesterday that Maximus-3 is having a Black Friday sale where everything is like 15% off, so you might want to purchase now.

Can you elaborate on the ability to add additional electronics to the winch? Is that specific to the Warn? Thanks.

Welcome to BroncoRaptor.com 🍻 Thank you for sharing your insightful winch installation and knowledge.

It has two power ports on the back of the winch for attaching up to 2 auxiliary devices (i.e. light bars). It provides 12V with up to a max of 16 amps of power combined of which both can be individially controlled using the wireless remote that controls the winch as well. I believe this is a feature only available on the Warn Zeon Platinum series and I'm not sure about other brands, but its one of the reasons i went with the Platinum series.

I have this set up on my raptor. Love it for all the reason you stated. Might be worth a look.
