So found this button under the dash. 2 wires coming off of it and then goes into a harness.

Has anyone seen this on theirs or know what the heck it is?

Where is it under the dash? Plainly visible if you pop your head under? Have you pushed it? Looks aftermarket.

Right up under the dash to the left side of the driver. It would be situated between the brake and dead peddle. But screwed into the bottom of the dash. I'll try to get a better picture and location info.

After a google lens image search, the internet consensus is it’s part of a dealer installed security system. Did you pay for one or negotiate not to have it activated? Apparently if you don’t pay for it, the dealer often leaves it, which should give some idea of its actual value.

not sure that’s right, but it’s the internet, so it must be true

Thanks all. I will have to call them and ask what it is. Kinda weird that they didn't discuss it at all. Will call the salesman tomorrow and see what he says.

Still confused, but have a direction to figure it out.

So it is a dealer installed security system that was disabled when I bought the truck. It was a security feature for their dealership. Wish they wouldn't have drilled it into the dash. Well now I can delete it and clean up the shoddy wiring they put in.

That's unfortunate that they did that. Glad you figured it out.

That’s ridiculous. If you would do that they’d void any warranty claims. I’d make sure it’s documented in case you get any electrical gremlins popping up later.
