Researching various lift options I came across SDi Front Bucket Assembly (SKU: SDI-MA-2291001 ) on the F150 Raptor forums. It gives you a 1.75” front lift, minimizes preload to <1” and significantly improves durability of the OEM shock top hat. The top hat is a documented likely failure point for Raptor suspension when utilizing too much preload (typically with Eibach or Geisler Springs) combined with severe use.
Basically all that preload slams the shock to end of range or bottoms out on the spring bind. Resulting in the top hat failing or the shock mount welds failing.
I contacted SDi and they said they don’t currently have plans to make Braptor version and I don’t see any other similar alternatives. And.. I don’t really want to go with travel limiters and bump stops to manage the issue. It seems like a lot of hardware and expense to manage the issue.
Anyone got any thoughts or comments on the SDi Front Bucket Assembly or similar solutions?
