So to make a long story a bit shorter...

I love my Bronco... I have wheeled it a bunch... Its been in the dirt more then not! Its been to the dealer a few times. There was a rough idle and a weird noise when turning the steering wheel. After the third time they finally replaced the steering rack and told me the rough idle in my bronco is normal and acceptable.
OOOO yeah let me just add the dealer chipped the windshield... Thanks for that!
Fast forward through some more wheeling in the dirt...
I was driving along and the idle became worse; then limp mode with a bunch of lights on the dash!
It was time to head back to the dealer... On the tow truck we went.
At the dealer for a day only to be told that it was just a glitch in the programing all fixed...
Picked up the truck and about 3 min into me leaving the dealership; identical issue! So I turned around and left it at the dealership.
The following day I was told that they found the issue... Replaced a thermostat... I was thinking there is no way that could be the issue.. Im not the trained master tech so what do I know???
Lets just say I was correct! I got about a block away stopped at the gas station to fill up and what happens... Same issue!!!!
Now its back there been a week and they are telling me that there is a blockage in the coolant passages within the long block. That's causing all of my issues!
I just don't know how that can be possible. If it was why would I get anti lock brake codes and a ton of other codes that would have zero to do with the engine!
Honestly I don't feel that the dealership tech is even capable. He clearly can not figure this out.
I have worked on my vehicles a ton over the years.. I have built engines and cars and trucks... There is no way possible that my engine is in need of replacement. They are just throwing parts at it!
In my eyes they are destroying my Baby!
Has anyone had similar issues? Also do you feel the dealers are training the technicians correctly? They are about to destroy my vehicle by taking it apart and replacing the long bock! Im about to request a buy back. That's not what I want but I also don't want a car that's taken apart and put back together incorrectly. My other issue is all of my upgrades; none of which are engine related thank god1 They would have voided my warranty if i did the tune and downpipe!!! Also if they do a buyback to replace the Bronco is almost 20k more dure to them raising to price! I was a golden ticket purchase and waited 3 years!
Just venting and trying to see if anyone has gone through anything similar.
I feel the dealer is being really nice; they just don't have tech's that know how to repair cars... They only employ people who can swap parts not diagnose actual issues!!!

That's my bag of crap for the day!!!


This was the first weekend i got my truck... In the dirt completely stock!!! What a blast!!!

I think I would want a second opinion/diagnosis before the dealer did anymore work. Maybe speak to another near by dealer service manager or the Ford district area service representative (if there is such a position anymore). Maybe call Ford Performance for advice? Ask FP for a local recommended Ford Performance dealership with better knowledge and experience? I would have a lot of questions needing answered.

Just got the news that my BR is being bought back... I decided to not have the engine replaced under the warranty. That being said; i have to remove what upgrades I have added and they are reimbursing me. Ford is making me whole which i feel is fair. The down side is that I want to buy another one the same options are just about 17k more! I have seen a few dealers out there discounting the 2024. 2000-10000 off msrp. If anyone knows of one available please let me know. I really loved my truck and ready to build another one! Here is a before with upgrades and after without... I might have a few accessories available as i will most likely build the next one a bit different.

Glad to hear Ford is doing a buy back for you. Sucks your losing all your time invested but if your like me, I can always make improvements the 2nd time around. Unfortunately you can't easily remove all the sound deadening you installed.
There is also unmentioned small updates between model years that's targeted to make a better vehicle.

So sorry, If must feel awful, At least Ford is owning up to the problem. I don't believe there is anything on the market close to the Braptor.

I was offered a Raptor R today they were wanting 10k over for a 2024
Curious if you're going to take it?

Sounds like you have the opportunity to be a double golden ticket taker.

The R has it all. Question is what your vibe is - the bronco being your jam and doing it again or taking the best of what Ford Performance has to offer right now and turning the page.

That's a decision I need to make by tomorrow. They are down to MSRP on the R but I do really love the Bronco. I have a F450 Platinum on the way and don't really need 2 pick up's...
But the only thing i don't like about the Bronco is that its severely anemic in the exhaust sound. This is zero fix for that.
Even with the headaches of the buyback Ford did come though and I will stick with the brand! But this is a tough choice...
Maybe I need to make a stupid choice and buy both! lol

That's a decision I need to make by tomorrow. They are down to MSRP on the R but I do really love the Bronco. I have a F450 Platinum on the way and don't really need 2 pick up's...
But the only thing i don't like about the Bronco is that its severely anemic in the exhaust sound. This is zero fix for that.
Even with the headaches of the buyback Ford did come though and I will stick with the brand! But this is a tough choice...

Sounds like a no bad options place to be. The R can probably be flipped right now as well if you move quickly. That could be a path lowering the cost of the bronco and modding up. Excited to hear what you choose! I'm sure I'm not alone.

Tough decision, either way you'll have several of the most desirable trucks on the market. I considered the Raptor R, can't beat the sound, performance, and ride, but it's just longer than I prefer in my home garage.

The Borla ATAK changes the exhaust, sounds really wicked under boost, more of a tuned exotic sound vs. the Predator or Hellcat engines in stock form. Checkout my sound clip from last night's first startup.

i have no interest in flipping... i would just let the next person on the list take it....

Tough decision, either way you'll have several of the most desirable trucks on the market. I considered the Raptor R, can't beat the sound, performance, and ride, but it's just longer than I prefer in my home garage.

The Borla ATAK changes the exhaust, sounds really wicked under boost, more of a tuned exotic sound vs. the Predator or Hellcat engines in stock form. Checkout my sound clip from last night's first startup.

there is no exhaust worth doing in my opinion... just a wast... it will never sound good. but i stll love the truck

I noticed you also have the Escalade V, best sounding truck ever from GM. (y)

I get to listen to my neighbors vehicles startup, Redeye Challenger, ZL1, Escalade V, TRX, modded C8, etc. I ask them to never use quiet mode. :giggle:

My neighbor where I used to live had a yellow testarossa. Nothing will ever beat that startup.

it pretty awesome... but i seem to visit the gas station often!!!
im getting an average 7mpg.
