I’m just wondering if I am out of touch or this estimate is spot on. I know I could do some of this myself but Age and Physical issues I can’t. They charge $160 per hour.

I have a new 2024 Raptor 800 miles on it. I bought some mods for it.

SPD Downpipes

Borla cat back Exhaust

CVfab Intercooler

K&N Charge pipe.

All in boxes ready to install.

I took it to a shop that looks nice and heard good reviews. They broke the estimate into 4 segments and said they charged by the “book”. TO me this estimate is huge but I want to know from you guys and girls if I’m just way out of touch.

1. Remove Replace Intercooler $642.60

2.Remove replace left and right Cats $924.00

3. Install new charge pipe $175.00

4. Remove replace exhaust system Install Valving etc.. $404.25

5. Fees $107.29

= $2253.14 Total.

I called and asked about the Cat charges and said it’s a bolt on system etc. Then they brought it down to that price. Before they wanted $2500. Is this fair? Thanks in advance .

For the downpipes, the one vid I saw looked like it did require quite a bit of work. I'd say the per hour price is about average in this day and age but I've seen higher. I have a client with an R8 in Colorado and the shop he's taking it to for an exhaust swap is like $240/hr which is nuts.

If you trust the shop or they have good references, it might be worth the price. You can have it done cheaply or correctly but usually not both at the same time.

Sometimes you can find a good "upstart" shop that shows a lot of promise but it's always a roll of the dice. The Bronco isn't that complicated and there's not much to screw up if the guy holding the wrench has decent ability and takes pride in his work.

Welcome to BroncoRaptor.com! 🍻

I've done these mods myself, sounds like fair estimate. I actually think they have underestimated the downpipes and exhaust as both are far more time consuming than the intercooler.
Check that the downpipes flexpipe is at the very exit end of the downpipes just before the flange and after the hangers at the transmission, just like the OEM downpipes. if the flexpipe is between the cats and the hanger at the transmission then its likely you will eventually end up with cracks in the exhaust.
