The auto start-stop feature is a polarizing one. I personally, am not a fan of it, but I will say the Bronco's auto start-stop feature is one of the better versions I've experienced. I have the 2.7L Ecoboost engine and it's very smooth on and off. Before I received my Bronco I was already trying to figure out how to disable this feature because it was definitely something I hated in my supercharged 5.0L V8 F-150. I installed the Autostop Eliminator in that truck and life has been great ever since.
I had several different suggestions on how to disable the auto start-stop in the Bronco without having to buy the $100 dongle from Autostop. One was to plug a 12v chargeable flashlight in the rear cargo area outlet. So I ordered one off Amazing because I figured it was probably a handy accessory to have anyways and it was only $16 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XRWQG5C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details). I can confirm that this does NOT work so this myth is Debunked!
The second suggestion I heard was to install some sort of trailer connector if you have the towing option because the Bronco computer would sense that you're towing something and it would then automatically turn off the auto start-stop feature. So I ordered up a 7-way blade to 12v power adapter LED circuit tester (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095KH8DP7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details I needed one anyway to test some lights on a new trailer I bought that wasn't working with my F-150) and I can confirm that this does NOT work either!
So it's looking like you will either need to just use the button on the dash or install the Autostop Eliminator if you really want the auto start-stop disabled for good.
