🌶️ Raptor is coming up on her 1y anniversary, so the insurance company decided to send us a bill.

My 6m premium went from $614 to $839 to $953. At first blush, the 55% increase was shocking; however, when my agent explained all the details it started to make more sense. It appears that, on a national level, the BRaptors have a very high accident rate, which has caused the entire industry to increase its premiums for [1] Collision, [2] Property Damage, [3] Comprehensive and [4] Underinsured Bodily Injury on said vehicle. Hence, we are all paying for the actions of others.

What have you noticed?

At an annual rate of 2x, Edmunds is going to need to update its 5y ownership projections.

Also REF my 29-DEC-2022 post, which estimated annual insurance at $2,704.

A quick search of three insurance providers yielded an average 6m rate of $1,235; or $2,470 annually for the same coverage. So, I guess I'm doing better than average, but I still don't appreciate the 55% increase.

Wow, that's a giant jump in premium! I haven't noticed mine increase, but I will keep an eye on it now. Thanks for the heads-up!
