Going out to the Rubicon tomorrow, started thinking about what could go wrong (a little late at this stage). I’ve got spare tie rods, all sorts of tire repair and so next on the list of backups is going to be CV Axles. I was curious if anyone has given a lot of thought on replacement axles?

I’d just throw them in the back until an original breaks or I’ve gotten my moneys worth in mileage and want to be proactive.

Unfortunately I don’t know jack about the Bronco Raptor axles. A quick search pulled these up from Ford Performance, but I’m not clear if these are an upgrade or straight replacement for the originals. Anyone know? Other better choices out there?

During the Bronco Raptor reveal video's we were told the axles are from the Ford Performance Bronco 4600 series Race truck. Dana 50 in the rear with increased thickness in the axle tubes and double row bearings on the ends. The front is strenghtened Dana 44, once again, same as the 4600 race truck.

I have Not read of anyone having issues with our OEM axles, including the race trucks. That said, it's possible to break anything if you try hard enough.

Have Fun on the Rubicon, looking forward to seeing your video's.

Thanks! The stock half shafts look to be significantly cheaper than these, just makes we wonder what the extra bucks get ya. FP’s pricing is coming in like RCV for the F150 Raptor or Spicers for the regular Bronco

The cool thing about racing, you end up developing more durable/better parts. My guess is the new FP one's in your link above are indeed upgrades, and the result of lessons learned in racing. I would definitely confirm with FP before placing an order and ask if any additional required parts are required or recommended.
