I'm actually surprised these havn't found their way into vehicles already. On my ship, we have H2S detectors in the sewage processing room. We also have Freon detectors in the refrigeration spaces.

Having CO (carbon monoxide) detectors in vehicles that would alarm while being driven and shut down the engine while in park would likely save some children's and pet's lives.
