My truck’s seen a lot of off-road use and abuse from days crawling on Rubicon, other Sierra trails and Moab to long desert runs in the Mojave, DV and western Nevada. At 42k miles it was time to service the shocks.
Simple enough if you live close to someone who specializes in tuning Fox Live Valves. I don’t. So I looked at shipping them out and settled on TSW. Unfortunately, my shop didn’t want to have my truck on a rack while shipping the shocks back and forth. TSW has an exchange program. No problem, right? Nope, no exchange program on Bronco Raptor shocks yet.
So I got a shop 75 miles away to do the work and coordinate with TSW while I was out of town. It all went smoothly.
I did the shock service with the Bravo Tune and replaced the front bushings on shocks and top hats. Total cost for the TSW shock work was under $1000.
But why stop there? I decided to install SDI’s e-clik Pro shock controller for the Bronco Raptor. Just got the truck back today. On road impression in city traffic, winding levee roads and highway drive home:
The truck drives like new again. Bushings aren’t clattering anymore. It’s got significantly less brake drive and body roll, steering input seems a little quicker (could be my imagination though). Overall on-road feels great.
I’ll go out to local “track” and stress test the e-clik and re-valving results this weekend and update.
