2022 Bronco Raptor
Not a exciting performance subject, Not why we bought Bronco Raptor's, however most of us are still curious. It does matter when your traveling and wondering if you can make it to the next gas station, ok the gas gauge tells you how many miles you can go, but still you get the idea...

"The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor gets 15 mpg in the city and 16 mpg on the highway, for a combined rating of 15 mpg. This is slightly better than the EPA-estimated fuel economy of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, which gets 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway."

Wow. Detailed. My wife is out of town so I did the bachelor thing with the kitchen yesterday and emptied the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen listening to this. I missed his summary. I got it did better than the EPA said. I had an EPA scientist at my place once as he knew someone I knew around the neighborhood. We have a similar hobby. These people take the train to save the world and since they have a time share they asked me to store some scientific equipment for them. It has been there for about ten years and I think I have inherited it.

Over the years I have never, I mean never paid attention to gas milage (even when I couldn't afford it). People say...what do you get with this vehicle and I say I don't know. I once paid attention while pulling with my F250. I remember a 13...We are in the process of selling a performance boat and I know, I mean I know it does not get good gas milage. If I pressed the button and looked I wouldn't like it, especially with the throttle down. I did check when I first got it and put the numbers of of my head. The best milage is of course a lower speed. I think I said it is a speed boat. I couldn't tell you the gas milage now even if I wanted to. Of all the vehicles I have owned I am a bit tired of filling it up. It drinks it for sure. The Raptor is a dream compared to it. So when you are filling it up just tell yourself, thank God it is not a speed boat.

The Raptor manual says it can take 87 as he put in this vehicle. It also says it is better to put 91 or better. I always have. I guess as you say most who buy the Raptor probably just fill it up. I enjoy burning gas. I aways have. It is one of the pleasures in life. Ever since the smell of the first 2 stroke I've been hooked. Sometimes I get whiff of gas and it brings back some great memories ripping it up on a dirt bike.

Tell the EPA I called. The train will be late.

Like I am sure virtually all of us, I did not consider the MPG of he raptor prior to buying it. That said, I am very curious so I have been driving in a manner to see how high I can get the mpg. So with maximum use of cruise control, start-stop, driving at the speed limit ( including a trip from California to go off road at Moab) I have averaged 18 mpg with 6300 miles. However, the research project will end soon as this truck is too much fun to be driven that way!!!!

I know this isn’t practical all the time but my wife and I took a small weekend trip and this is what I got on cruise control at 70mph

Just wanted to throw out an update. I just replaced my gloss black factory wheels with a set of factory bead lock capable wheels I bought from a member on here. The bead lock wheels look so much better than the gloss black wheels but I do notice that it drives a bit heavier. I figured it would have and then got curious how it would mess with my MPG. Well it didn’t do too bad.
I’m attaching a photo of my MPGs and thought I’d mention I mostly drove highways at speeds of 55-75 using cruise control. I also did some city driving on this tank as well.
For all you braptor owners on here looking for the factory bead locks my $0.02 is maybe look for a lighter wheels IMO. MPG did ok but you will feel the difference when it drives. Again I know we didn’t buy these braptors for the MPG and frankly it doesn’t bother me but just wanted to give some insight for those out there who may be interested in something like this.

Interesting. I have been waiting to get back to AZ and then seriously look for the OEM bead locks as we have the gloss black wheels. I was looking earlier at the rim threads. I really like the look of the OEM bead locks. We shall see. Perhaps I will look at a lighter rim as you say. Thanks for posting this.

Edit: please let us know if in a short time you get used to the new feel with the ride. Is this a deal breaker for you? Do you not like the heavier feel that much? The bead locks, as you say, look better.

Better than I thought!

Yeah I’ll let you know if it’s a deal breaker or not. I do absolutely love the look of it for sure but again I do feel it was lighter on its feet before I put these bead locks on. I may possibly change them out way down the road because I was wanting to put some Nitto 37 in tires on once these tires got up there in miles and the nittos will probably weight a little more and I may decide to go with some lighter wheels then. But as of now I’ll just enjoy these bead locks
