Bronco Production Numbers

After 44 years in my adopted state of Utah, I'm pulling up roots and moving above the 44th parallel in Idaho. I hope you can cut me some slack on the Bronco production until I get back up and running. 🌶️ Raptor is 86" wide (stock) at the tires, which makes it hard to find a haul trailer.

No problem and understood, we will still be here, Good luck with the move and hope everything goes in your favor.

Moving is a supreme PITA - all the best for a safe & satisfying relocation! Looking forward to your continued contributions once you get settled.

Ford is picking up the production pace after an extended PM break at the start of the year.

Moving is a big deal. We know a lot about that recently as well. All the best with the move. I am sure it will go well!

August was the 5th-highest monthly production for the Bronco (all trim levels). No new scheduling notes.
Rumor: MY26 order banks are expected to open in late October with a production start following the Christmas shutdown. I'd like to see the new BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 37x12.5R17/C 116R be standard issue (public release is May 2026).

October was the 3rd-highest Bronco production month since its release in 2021.
I still love my "Warthog", aka Chili Pepper 🌶️ 😍

Production numbers have been strong leading up to the shutdown. How long will production be closed?

Typically 3 weeks

The Ford Michigan Assembly Plant (MAP) in Wayne, Michigan, follows UAW-negotiated holiday schedules and typically combines holiday downtime with routine maintenance or minor retooling for model year transitions. No major retooling is indicated for the 2026 model year (MY26) Bronco or Ranger, as updates are minor (e.g., new colors, packages, and software features like Trail Turn Assist 2.0), suggesting only standard line adjustments rather than extended shutdowns.

1. Christmas Shutdown (Holiday Period)
  • Dates: December 24, 2025, through January 2, 2026 (official UAW holiday periods, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after, and New Year's).
  • Based on patterns from other Ford plants, this may extend to a full shutdown from December 21, 2025, to January 4, 2026, to include weekends and buffer days.
  • Duration: 8 paid holiday days (December 24–26, 29–31, 2025; January 1–2, 2026), but effective plant downtime is approximately 2 weeks when including non-production days.
  • Reason: UAW-Ford contract holidays for hourly workers. Production halts across assembly lines, with workers receiving pay or using vacation time.
  • Impact: Full plant closure; no production of Bronco or Ranger models.
2. Maintenance and Retooling (for MY26 Transition)
  • Dates: Likely early to mid-January 2026 (e.g., January 5–25, 2026), immediately following the holiday period, aligning with the start of MY26 Bronco production in late January.
  • Duration: 2–3 weeks, based on typical annual changeovers for minor updates. This is not a major retool (unlike past multi-month shutdowns for new model launches), but includes routine maintenance, inventory adjustments, and line reconfigurations.
  • Reason: Preparation for MY26 production, including minor tweaks for updated features on Bronco (e.g., heritage colors, new packages) and Ranger (e.g., Raptor enhancements).
  • No extended retooling is reported, as changes do not require significant plant modifications.
  • Impact: Temporary worker reassignments possible (as seen in prior years); production resumes with MY26 models by mid January.
Schedules can shift due to supply chain or demand factors, so confirm with UAW Local 900 or Ford's official channels for the latest.

2026 Ford Bronco Raptor Details
Available exclusively as a four-door model, it carries over most mechanicals from the 2025 version with minimal changes, such as updated color options and appearance packages that align with the broader Bronco refresh. No major powertrain or structural updates are reported, maintaining its focus on extreme capability while improving on-road refinement. Production begins in mid-January 2026 at the Michigan Assembly Plant, with orders open since October 2025.

  • Design: Improved aerodynamics and noise insulation for 2026.
  • New Colors: Additions include Avalanche (extra-cost), Desert Sand, Marsh Gray, Velocity Blue Metallic, Shelter Green Metallic, and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (extra-cost). Carryovers like Shadow Black and Oxford White; deleted options from 2025 include Azure Gray and Eruption Green.
  • Starting MSRP: $79,995 (including destination; up slightly from 2025's $77,735 due to minor feature additions).
Check local dealers for incentives, which may mirror 2025's and up to $1,000 rebates.
