That may be so, but as far as I can remember, and I'm sure I'm older than you, these giant upcharges have only been around for maybe last decade, and more so last few years. Was just passing on what was told to me! On these special vehicles the dealers are making much more profits than the manufactures are, so in time changes may start to happen.
