The voltage supply from the dash USB is too low to power up my Escort radar detector.
Short of running a power cable down to the USB at the base of my dash or to the 12V outlet in the console, can anyone recommend a solution or an adapter which may help?

Any possibility of tapping the rearview mirror? I know they have options for dash cams that utilize this…

I bought this from Sticker Fab. It powers my dash cam with no issues. Reach out to them. I believe they may have used it to power a radar detector as well. It comes with two additional short power cables as well.

I went with a Nexar Pro. It works well and has an interior camera also. The negative is you have to hard wire your Apple car play because it sinks to your phone via wi-fi. It was reasonably priced and is only temporary. When I have time I plan on hard wiring a Blackvue with a rear camera. I have the Blackvue hard wired in my Subaru with a rear camera and I personally like them over all other dash cams. I have been hit a few times and ran off the road recently and these incidents were all recorded on my Blackvue in my Subaru. In the times we live in now I think a dash cam is a must have. It has helped me with insurance and recently helped a hit and run victim where my dash cam recorded the incident.

Just purchased a Blackvue and plan to do the hardwired install soon. At least I hope I can bring limited in my wherewithal for these things.

Awesome! Thank you for the detailed reply! 🙌🏽 Do you know if the power source from the Bronco mirror is adequate to power the Blackvue?

I don't think there will be a problem with power. Its powering two cameras with no problem in my vehicle.

For Escort Radar detectors, I simply tap into the review mirror on my vehicles
