I expect you should be fine purchasing on your own, then having your dealer install, but that's my opinion. One of the Lethal Performance team members will be replying to you soon with your answer.

You can, but be forewarned that many dealers won’t touch the FP tune, or if they do they’ll charge an exorbitant installation price. Shopping around is advised prior to purchase, or you can buy it directly from Ford Performance and select a dealer to install it from their list (for a bundled price).

I bought the ProCal device from LP and then found an ASE-certified shop in my general area to perform the install for a reasonable price. Grand total was in the neighborhood of $800, which is less than what FP charges for the tune alone.

Hey there! You can confirm with your preferred dealer, however I don't think it would be an issue bringing them a new sealed device to have installed for that warranty.

Thanks for all the replies. I bundled through Ford Performance because 1)I had points from my purchase and 2) they provided a list of dealers near me where they will ship and I'll do install

smart move. I had 640,000 points so I obviously used them through ford and got a 20% off and bundling with dealer install saved me a fortune. it was and extra $112 for the install bundling. I called and asked them how much and they told me $360 for 2 hrs labor at $180 hr. just make sure you double check with dealer first bc most on the list wont or cant do it.

You can stick to your guns for sure. Just don’t be surprised if they do the same…and turn you away.

im not saying some dealerships wont unless you pay more, im saying some dealers just aren't capable of doing the install. I just said call to make sure they can bc there were dealers on the list to choose for the install but I called and they said they weren't able to. wasn't about the money bc I never even mentioned it.

Appreciate all the thoughts and replies. My ProCal 4 was delivered by Ford Performance to my dealer in DE (Preston Boulevard of Georgetown) who then installed it for the bundled price (i.e., no extra charge) in about 2 hours. They mounted the device neatly on the lower left corner of the windshield so I have some cool extra gauges to review while driving. Need to log a few weeks and I'll provide thoughts on performance, mileage and shifting improvements. I did notice that my miles to empty went from 121 to 151 as I left the dealer. So, I got that going for me, which is nice.
