Hello everyone,

Hope you are all doing awesome. Thought I would check in with the group to confirm a couple things.

I’m gearing up to do a 2” spring lift. Hyperco 2” standard rate fronts and 2” HD rears as my slide, rear armor case, and gear mean that I currently sit level all around.

My understanding is the HD hyperco’s are rated for around 250 or so additional pounds and that the 2” lift is measured unloaded? So curious if anyone is running this combination, what their thoughts are, and if the HD are the right springs for the rear.

Goal is to run 38 or 39’s (tire manufacturer tire height dependent) along with roper aftermarket wheel and offset. 0 = poke and 18= inboard is my understanding.

So my questions are:
-Is that spring combination recommended. Any issues with the rear Hd springs in terms of drivability, harshness, and actual lift loaded?

-Did any of you doing the rear 2” lift need to replace the track bar with an adjustable version? I can’t find clear answers on this.

-Presuming VDM reset/calibration will be required.

Thanks everyone in advance!!

I’m running 2”/1”, +6 (they poke a bit with 38x13.5”) and an RPG billet track bar.

I’ve got the back seats out, but have a goose gear seat delete and rear drawers. Some rear window molle panels, an ARB Twin, a bunch of tools, some recovery gear, a GG tailgate table and a bigger spare complete the weight considerations.

it sat level initially and now squats a tad.

The +6 38s have only rubbed a wee bit on rear passenger liner only. That incudes a lot of jumps, several Rubicon trips and a lot of hard wheeling in the sierras and desert.

I’m not sure I NEEDED the track bar, but it’s the right thing to do after lifting if you want it to track correctly. IMO.

I did the VDM recalibration well after the springs were changed, and I’d recommend doing it immediately. Learning as I go on that one.

Given my experience with the 1” lift, I’m thinking maybe the 2” lift may have been the better option for a long term level look. But I don’t think it’ll be necessary to run 39s. The rubbing issues on 38s and 39s are the same at full compression, whether you have a 1” lift or a 2” lift. That said the 39s will rub more if you use it hard.

Overall the springs make the ride a little stiffer, which can feel more stable on smooth road, curves and less dive when on brakes or wheeling off rocks. Again, IMO.

Hope that helps in some way, good luck in your decision.

Thank you and appreciate the guidance and input. Did you do the eibach kit or hyperco?

Sounds like a fair amount of rear weight, more than I’m running daily unless my fridge and supplies are in there.

Track bars seem like cheap insurance, I’ll add it to the list of parts.

Any alignment issues in the front? I’ve read mixed info on that. Something about being beyond 2.125” lift and you can no longer get it within spec but not sure that’s accurate.

Sounds like you’ve really put it through its paces so I appreciate hearing your experience. Did you also add longer bump stops or any other modifications to make it work?
