For future reference and searches, the Ford Bronco Raptor uses
SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil that meets the Ford specification WSS-M2C961-A1. For extreme cold climates below -22°F (-30°C), an SAE 0W-30 oil meeting the Ford specification WSS-M2C963-A1 can be used for cold start performance.
I'm falling down the motor oil rabbit hole currently. I am a long time user of Motul and used it in all of my high performance vehicles as well as my supebikes when I tracked frequently. They consistently had specs that were better than anything else out there right up until the pandemic hit and they apparently had issues getting certain ingredients.
I tend to shop by specifications, especially Viscosity index as well as what the base is made from. If the car is under warranty, it also has to meet the manufacturer's specifications.
Motul's recommendation per their website is 5w-30, what they call their Asian Import oil. It's a semi-synthetic with a VI of 155. That didn't really suit me so I started to look around.
Now Mobil 1 has a very long history but it hasn't been a "true" synthetic for some time and it's now refined dino oil that meets synthetic specs. They also don't list the VI and a lot of other specs publicly. So they're out.
Amsoil has a VI of 168 and meets Ford's specification.
Interestingly enough Ford's own 5w-30 full synthetic also has a VI of 168.
Interesting. Maybe Amsoil's making Ford's synthetics.
Redline, who I think has really stepped it up in the last few years, does not offer a specific oil for the Raptor. I moved to a lot of their gear oils when Motul's specs changed.
Royal Purple. Used to be great two decades ago but not so much any more as they went the refined dino oil route instead of starting with a true ester synthetic base. They have an oil for the Raptor but they list the 5w-30 specification as "971" instead of 961. Typo? Maybe...but the VI index is a hair lower than Ford and Amsoil.
Castrol and Shell, both who make a lot of the "base" oils and are the gold standard with some of their motorsport formulas, don't offer anything specifically for the Raptor.
Still doing research but as of now, leaning towards Ford or Amsoil. I'll also be using the extraction method instead of the oil pan drain method.
