Well, they are Baja tested now! Thanks, Randy, much appreciated and I'm glad they worked as designed. Having someone else do a driveway install and run them through all types of Baja dirt roads/trails for a a ton of miles is a great way to test. I appreciate the feedback. It's nice having the confidence of knowing the sensors/arms and resi's are now protected. That was the goal!

UPDATE: For those of you that have emailed me, I have your sets ready! I am super stoked how these turned out. I will contact you via email to get your addresses and I will give you my Venmo information. I can get them shipped on Wednesday, the 15th. I am building a basic website, which is not quite ready. Harder than I thought it would be, even to make it look half way decent, lol. Eventually customers will be able to purchase through the site and I will have install instructions and other info. Figured I post some simple pictures of install for future access. I am making written instructions, too. Getting there, lol!

Mount the flaps on the inside of the body mount. Put the bolt through the larger lower hole. The rear washer plate needs to be pointed down and the flat section against the frame side and lined up with the flap edge. Tighten bolts snug. Done.

TLDR folks: I like them, but you may want to take them off in big rocks just in case.

Initial impressions:

Package arrived nicely packed, complete and quick for USPS. I like that logo stickers were included, but not placed on the flaps. Saved me a step.

Install video was very detailed and helpful but lighting made it difficult to see orientation of the parts. Two or three well lit front and back pics above explain almost everything pretty well.

They install pretty dang easily……..unless…….you have RCI pinch weld covers installed. The covers are “L” shaped with the horizontal side projecting inward an inch past the seam. This conflicted with the Brap Flap. The Brap Flap touches my FMI rear lower arm skid hardware as well, but it’s not an issue.

Ultimately I removed the rear half of my seam covers (for now) on both sides to complete the install. Now I’m deciding whether to permanently remove the covers or cut short slots (about circular saw kerf width) in them.. The covers look great and never had an issue, but there was a lot of silt imbedded between the cover and seam, long term that may be rust inducing.

The only issue I can currently foresee is using these things on boulder infested trails like the Rubicon. The flaps have some flex and they will contact the rear ride height sensor linkage attached to the rear lower arm. If you hit the wrong rock in the right place. Probably won’t happen, but the weirdest stuff happens on trail.

All that said, it’s easy enough to take them off whenever you’re going to take on a significantly technical trail. It’ll cost you a zip tie.

After installing them, I can envision a better solution for me using a HDPE flap with somewhat similar hardware mounted to my RCI slider frame brackets. They would be mounted a bit more midship, a little wider and can stay on full time. But I’ll spend more money in parts, gas, mistakes, etc and time doing that than it cost to buy these.

The Brap Flaps are good value if you want protection from rock/grit abrasion for your rear suspension.

That's what I like to see. Try em in the big rocks. These were made for desert running, but, I kept the length to the control arm mount to avoid rocks for the rock crawlers. If the flap actually ever hits the sensor arm, chances are you would hit the arm without it there ,anyways. I haven't been able to hit them yet. But, like you said, weird shit happens. I know how you wheel, so give them a run and report back. As you now know, they can be removed in a couple of minutes if they if you think they may interfere in the boulders. Then replace after. I appreciate the feedback!

So I met up with Lou and installed his newly updated BrapFlap in his driveway. Very easy install. The only thing I disliked, was the dried mud that was still there falling in my eyes! I do a little bit of rocky stuff, but nothing that intense, so I will see if they actually hit any rocks. Over all, I like the design and I feel they will protect the sensors and shock reservoirs. Which is exactly what I was looking to purchase when I first bought my Bronco back in October. Here is a little video I made to show the flaps installed.

Alrighty! The Brap flap website is up and running. Very basic site, but payment options are finally available. Even Paypal. I appreciate the support here. I have about 15 sets out in the wild now. I have 10 sets left of the original batch at the current pricing. I predict a small price hike eventually, due to costs. Being honest, this first batch is a break even type of deal for us. I did some rock crawling today with some Jeeps and Godzilla(member here and Brap flap equipped, too)and made some contact and the flaps were not phased. Flexed as designed. It is greatly appreciated and I'm glad I started here first, mostly because those here actually off road a fair amount and this is a great site.
