Ford Performance Air/Oil Separator DIY installation

Received and installed mine. The new design fits perfectly.
Great. I just did mine today. Finally. It's a long story but all done!!

Nice getting them done.

I find it pretty easy popping the top off and cleaning the oil. In mine there has only been a very small bit of oil mainly in the drivers side can. Basically just a paper towel and it soaks up the very small amount of oil at the bottom of the can. I check them at every oil change. I believe that is the interval recommended. I am just careful not to drop the allen key which I have done before and it ended up on my skid plate. Got it out easy enough.
So you have to unscrew them and suck out or use a towel to clean? I am looking at the UPR catch can and the cleaning would seem simpler since you unscrew the can and you can dump it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The two hoses attached to each canister have blue cilps that are intended to be depressed while you pull each hose. You simply depress the clip and pull the hose. You then unscrew the four bolts, remove the lid, and dump the oil. Wash, rinse, repeat for each canister. I will say that it is not a quick process compared to just unscrewing a canister and dumping. But I preferred using what the Ford Performance Engineers designed rather than an aftermarket product. Just a preference, not saying either one is better than the other.

You can just tilt to drain the can if you don’t want to fully clean it out to that extent every time.

In the winter this comes in handy to make sure the condensation isn’t filling it up.

You can dump it. It is just a can once unscrewed. I have not had a lot of oil in mine so I simply wipe them out with a paper towel.

I have never pulled the hoses out but I may give it a try.
