Ford Performance Air/Oil Separator DIY installation

Good News!

March 11, 2026: Revised Kit update from Ford Racing Parts (rebranded Ford Performance) in quotes below.

"We have launched the replacement kit for the Bronco Raptor Air/Oil Separator M-6766-BW30, the new kit is now M-6766-RR30."

Since a few months have passed, I was asked to confirm my address so a new replacement kit could be sent. There wasn't any mention if this is a total replacement or just the passenger side update replacement parts. I'm good with either as I'm confident we will be happy with Ford Racing's solution.

That is a total replacement according to their website, though it appears to be wait-listed at the moment.

Great new. I will let you know what our dealership says. Thanks!

Does anyone know if this part is CARB approved? The Ford Racing website is not clear or explicit on this topic.

Thanks for the update. Just purchased one. I have been waiting for this to come back on their site. Note: it's still listed as the Ranger Raptor 3.0L Air/Oil kit, which is nice because there's a 20% off for "Trucks Only" that worked when purchasing online.

Makes sense since the new part # ends in “RR30”. I’m wondering now about the old “BW30” part number…Bronco Warthog 3.0? Wink, wink…

FedEx delivered my new Ford Performance Air/Oil separator kit number M-6766-RR30 today! It's a complete new kit which I'm hoping to install this weekend. Just a quick look in the box, it appears the passenger side has a redesigned canister, attachment bracket, and hoses. Not sure about the drivers side until I have a chance to compare with the original parts.

Looking forward to hearing if they fixed the previous problem with the rubbing.

Hood interference issue is Resolved with this new kit M-6766-RR30. The passenger side canister has been relocated further forward and lower compared to the first kit, providing what appears to be plenty of clearance to the hood.

New shorter bracket and canister along with bracket mounting the canister further forward away from the inner hood where it previously interfered.
In photo below new canister and bracket on the left compared to original on right.

Installed, I managed to route the new tubes without removing the engine intake plenum but would have been easier install if i would have.

Photo below with hood open just enough to take the photo. For clarification in this photo, I used blue tape to represent where the previous interference occurred on the hood. Also note the 2 new formed tube/hoses part number end in a "B" for revision B.

The canister now appears just slightly higher than the engine intake plenum in the center.

I'm pleased with this new passenger side canister design, location and fitment offered with Ford Performance kit M-6766-RR30. (y)
Now looking forward to see how well they perform. 😊

Updated March 15, 2026:
With the arrival and installation of the Newly redesigned Ford Performance Air/Oil Separator kit # M-6766-RR30 I have updated this post. Note that the this new kit, M-6766-RR30, installation instructions are identical to the previous obsolete kit M-67766-BW30, likewise, I'm just updating some text and photo's that pertain to this new replacement kit, specifically the passenger side canister photos. Previous, now obsolete, text has a strike through.

Installed the Ford Performance Air/Oil Separator M-6766-RR30 and removed my previously installed UPR single valve catch can. If I would have had the UPR dual valve I don't think I would have seen the value in changing to this Ford Performance unit.

If your tackling this install project yourself, this Top Side creeper makes it much easier as the Passenger (R) side canister is centered on top of the engine at the back.

The Ford Performance Installation instructions are well written and provides clear photo's.
The Passenger side, shown below, seemed easy and quick enough.

Previous obsolete kit M-6766-BW30 thumbnail photo below. If your installation of passenger side canister sits high like photo below you may have the incorrect Bronco Raptor kit, please confirm you have the new redesigned kit # M-6766-RR30.

When I got to the Drivers side, the OEM air tube, that this kit replaces, has tamper proof fittings that will break during removal. Then on page 7 of the instructions it recommended to remove the vertical air intake tube in order to remove the air tube lower fitting. This appeared to be the most difficult and time consuming part of the installation. I decided to try removing the lower tamper proof fitting using the pliers shown below which worked quite well and saved a bunch of time in disassembly. Simply grip the pliers with right hand and hold the intake air tube with your left and pull straight up. This technique was easier for me as I was looking straight down from the top side creeper.

Then on to the drivers side bracket install, first obstacle was the ground cable path was where the canister mounts.

I removed the ground cable, rerouted between vacuum hose and wiring harness, added wire looming wrapped in electrical tape on the ground cable, then zip tied to wiring harness to hold in place.

Drivers side with supplied hoses attached, I did carefully pull the HVAC line towards the brake fluid reservoir to provide adequate clearance from the canister, thank you to @Roughstock post here.

The passenger side canister outlet tube is closer to the hood liner than I would like, curious if others have noticed any abrasions in the "Ford Performance" area on the liner. Pic below take from drivers side front corner with hood closed between latch and safety latch allowing enough space to take the photo below.

Note: additional photos with the new kit # M-6766-RR30 in comparison to the obsolete kit M-6766-BW30 later in this thread included within post # 89

Also, note that the below posts #2 - #70 are in reference to the original (now obsoleted) part # M-6766-BW30.
Excellent write up. I used this and the Ford instructions to get me through the install. Great info about moving the ac line. The worst part for me was the air tube lower fitting. It was quite a PITA for me. I appreciate the info and pictures.

Great report. Thank you! I need to get mine done. Contacting the dealer again Monday. Thanks

Just had mine installed by a trusted certified mechanic who has worked on my BRaptor previously. He was also challenged by the passenger side hoses and ended up doing a slight mod to a hose to make the routing easier. He asked me what the “community” thinks about field servicing of the canister. How will y’all empty the canisters, and at what frequency? My mechanic suggested maybe fabricating a drain line with a valve rather than popping the top of the canister off and somehow scraping the oil out. Any thoughts?

Nice getting them done.

I find it pretty easy popping the top off and cleaning the oil. In mine there has only been a very small bit of oil mainly in the drivers side can. Basically just a paper towel and it soaks up the very small amount of oil at the bottom of the can. I check them at every oil change. I believe that is the interval recommended. I am just careful not to drop the allen key which I have done before and it ended up on my skid plate. Got it out easy enough.
