Cam Phaser Rattle

Adding another victim to the dialog. My 24Braptor is in for CP's today. Was told it'll take a week...I'd have thought by a Dec2024 build, they'd have fixed this dam problem.... 3,800 miles and it sounds like my '97 F350 7.3 TD......

Hoping to pick up my newly repaired BRaptor today/tomorrow. Just waiting for another call that its ready...Fordpass back on line and 8 new miles on it. I haven't seen any new codes reported yet but they told me its waiting on a AC recharge(machine broke?) and a rear window gasket...I was half tempted to have the performance upgrade applied while incarcerated but opted to not introduce any possible excuses for any new breaks until we shake it out a little. Fingers crossed!

Anticipation... 😰 I haven't heard of any post Cam Phaser repair issues and I anticipate you will soon be good to go with miles of smiles!
I would have also held off on any performance tune or other modifications until after confirming everything is as expected.

Welcome to BroncoRaptor.com! 🍻 Sorry your first post is on a disheartening thread to all of us, as the vast majority of threads are very positive in nature with a wealth of information specific to Bronco Raptors.

well, wishful thinking on my part....on its way down and back, Fordpass just kept emailing me codes.....now the picture on the page looks like a ford raptor ranger...
Listed of, #1 - powertrain malfunction, All/4 wheel drive fault - great
#2 - engine control detecting erratic signals from the engine timing?
#3 - potential engine problem, incorrect oil level, use of incorrect oil or invalid maintenace....(maybe they forgot?)
#4 low boost pressure with the turbo charger....

I was supposed to be making a 500 mile trip with this scheduled to leave today (like an hour from now).....I think I'll take my chances keeping the rental for another 10 days....

Holy hell, I didn't realize they dropped the ENTIRE chassis to get at the cam phasers. I'm used to Germans dropping the engine/subframe and maybe the tranny assemblies but that's literally the entire bottom half of the car. Getting everything put back in correctly is the hard part along with not damaging anything while removing it. Hopefully they get everything fixed correctly for you here soon.

Morning, I finally picked up the Braptor yesterday. They put about 100 miles on it making sure that nothing wasn't working. They had found a few connectors that were loose explaining all the codes it was putting out. After a good drive and a fill up, everything seems fine. All I needed to do was reset the oil life!

I will also mention, they noticed that a few of the intake tubes from the IC were really loose when they removed. Said they just seemed to pull off by hand? May be a OEM build flaw and you may want to check your own. I did notice the boost pressure and acceleration was up a bit and think it was the result of. They were surprised there were no prior codes.

Hopefully, this is my last post to this thread! thanks for all the help and listening!

Great news, thanks for the update. (y)
The IC tubes do pull off easily once the retainer clips are pulled/released, I obviously wasn't there, but I'm thinking it's nothing to be concerned about going forward.
