Ford Performance Air/Oil Separator DIY installation

I am taking my Bronco Raptor into the dealer tomorrow for an oil change and to look at an issue where the front camera spray nozzle leaks my entire tank of wiper fluid after installing my winch. While I'm there, I will inquire again about an update for the FP AOS fix. My dealer has not contacted me with any information about it since I initially requested it. They have just said that FP is not responding to them so far. I don't expect that to change.

I haven't had them do the zip tie fix yet. I tried to do it myself, but I couldn't figure out exactly where to tie it and how to mount myself over the engine up that high to properly leverage it. So I will ask them to either do this or whatever the current workaround is that FP recommends.

What's the status of everyone else in this boat?
  • Did you have the FP AOS uninstalled?
  • Did you get the zip tie fix (how's it working?)?
  • Or have you just let it keep rubbing?

it is not too difficult. pull the canistar up off the metal bracket push to the drivers side like an inch just passed the hose it hits on the botton and just zip tie it there. holding it towards drivers side. Yes and still no fix. Ford already reimburded me full amount but still no fix but when they do should get everything free to fix it.

OK, I just heard back from my dealer

there isnt anything we can do about the oil seperator

So, they aren't hearing anything new from FP. Not even to do the zip tie workaround, or a new temp resolution. The guidance now appears to be just leave it there. I had asked the dealer if they might need to remove that one AOS and leave the other, but they aren't opting for that option either.

They are changing my oil today, so I assume they are at least cleaning the catch cans. But after just under 3K miles, I doubt there's much there.

The zip tie deal is just the logical thing to do at this point. If you leave canister on the bracket or even in that same spot it still gets sandwiched between a hose and hood which will lead to further damage, you have to move it and hold it to drivers side with zip ties. Ford at some point will have to come out with a new bracket and hoses for that particular canister. The dealer I went to twice wasnt too bright and thought they fixed it, so the second time using a small rotten stick in the steed of plastigage to prove it was still hitting they finally wrote down that is needs to be redesigned so i can get it warrantied or whatever. Since I was reimbursed full amount and eventually when they have a fix will be on that list for new parts. You essentially will be getting it for free and the 600$ is to help with repairing hood/paint etc.

I ordered from Ford Accessories at the link (in this post). How do you go about requesting a refund? Did you do it through your local parts dealer?

I believe I went through ford performance support. I ordered mine through CJPony so it took a bit longer for ford to reimurse them and them to me. but you do need (for whatever reason) get a dealership to say "yeah it is flawed".
