What did you do to your Bronco Raptor today?

Nice! Love hearing the turbos thru the exhaust.

Would you guess the turbo noise I can hear in the video is from the BOV or from the exhaust mods?
If it’s the bov I definitely need one.

The underside of that thing is clean ....
Thank you, I take it through our touchless car wash with underbody spray almost every time it's driven and it's all ceramic coated.

Yes, way more noticeable from the rear than I expected, I didn't notice it in the cabin. I have a GoPro that I need to figure out how to mount off the rear for a freeway rip.

Not BOV, I have a Turbo Smart BOV but it's the recirculating (plumb back) version like our OEM BOV. Turbo noise that is a whistle is exhaust, noise from a dual port BOV is a release of pressurized air, like in an air compressor hose release.

Performed an autopsy on my Steering rack. 74 Weld case with original Hoss 3.0 internals. My first 74 Weld case was warrantied and they swapped my internals into a new 74 Weld case. This new rack started making a sound racks shouldn’t make on a full lock turn months later.

Ford said “yup” racks gotta be replaced. I had like a week before my Mojave week, so I bought a new Ford 3.0 rack and had them install it. What a mess that was, but I still needed to return a core for a $400 deposit.

I just found time to perform an autopsy and swap internals out of 74 case into my original Hoss 3.0 case. The problem became apparent as soon as I removed the end of my case. The belt connecting the motor to the rack was broken and wadded up.

Disassembled the rest of the rack and found there were no other issues. Nothing loose or binding. No water intrusion. Nothing

So either the belt failed or the tensioner cam was not tensioned properly. It is impossible to tell if it was improperly tensioned when installed (74 Welds fault) or the belt failed on its own (Fords fault). No one will own it, so I’m stuck in the middle.

So I bought a $3000 OEM rack, that ultimately could have been repaired with a simple belt without even removing the rack from the car. Oh well. Moving on.

P.S. I haven’t been able to find that belt yet other than a friend offered me a used one.

The belt as I found it upon pulling the case end off. Not sure why it made noise only at full lock.

Handwritten notes included with the core return are always appreciated. 😜

Surprised you didn't find any internal resistance, therefore I agree, it appears there was too much tension and/or the belt was damaged during reassembly, just a guess based on your photo's and analysis. Obviously something was just not quite right. :(

Added a little more blue. I really like the look of the UPR products.

New low mount "4th" brake light. I can now almost see out the back window.

I say 4th as I have the Diode Dynamics trailer hitch light, the new version which acts as a brake light and reverse light. I only need to have it center mounted and at a height greater than 15" and I could have just gone with that. Wanted to play it safe so I installed the Morimoto brake light with the Fast Intentions mount.

I did just see the new Rigid light but $61 vs $299, I'll take the Morimoto for now.

Welded in Foutz Lower Control Arm Bracket Gusset plates and replaced alignment cam pins. Discovered a new hole in tie rod boot.

Last of the repairs after I ate a big boulder in a wash down in the Mojave. Broken rim which cut the tire down to the cable (it did hold air tho), bent or sheared three pins and tweaked the rear bracket for the LCA.

Showing off my new repair/improvement to @Dgchurch I discovered a hole in the tie rod boot. Super obvious at full lock, super concealed (in low light) with wheels straight. Appears a rock worked its way up there and abraded it (I took the Mojave boulder to the outside) somehow as I can see consistent damage across three folds. How it got up there is a head scratcher.

Lessons learned on the lower arm bracket repair: 1) when at speed, hit smaller rocks. 2) Ford doesn’t sell alignment cam pins, you’ll need to get GM truck pins.

Lessons learned on tie rod boots: 1) Inspect your boots. 2) Use good light. 3) Cycle from lock to lock when inspecting. 4)Crazy stuff happens on trail (see # 1)

obviously something got there and abraded, but I’m at a loss as to how! Maybe a smallish rick jammed in there while turning to passenger? It’s pretty high up and some leverage would have been needed to abrade that much material.

Found a complete set of fender flares for an extremely cheap price. Took them in and had them color matched and I installed them.

I want to find a spare set, so I can cut them down half way to wheel in and keep my originals stored. Always looking!!

Do we wanna know what it cost to do the painted top? Probably not. But I'm sitting down so let's have it.

Bought it from a guy with a braptor who was switching to electronic soft top - 4500 which included it being PPF already. Sold my MIC for 3500 and have a brand new hothead headliner Im selling as well, so all in all delta will prob be 600.

Have you noticed any difference in interior sound levels? Typically you may notice a sound difference during conversations with others in the vehicle.
Seems my Wrangler painted hardtop is much quieter than the Bronco MIC even with the sound deadening.

Wow. That's a steal.

it is a little quieter, but wind noise is not significantly different

I saw the window sticker for the first time. It will be born day after tomorrow! I noticed a reference on the sticker to a raptor-specific Offroadeo, but I have not seen anything specific regarding where and when (other than sometime this year). Anyone aware of any further information on it?
There are two I've heard of and plan to go to. The first was the Raptor Rally in Oct. Fordraptorrally003.splashthat.com
The second was a Bronco Raptor specific Off-rodeo in Nevada.
