Ford Patent Filing Suggests Ford Bronco Raptor Diecast On The Way
Ford Motor Company has filed a patent for a Ford Bronco Raptor diecast model, Ford Authority has learned. The patent was filed on September 9th, 2020, published on February 8th, 2022, and assigned serial number USD942897S. Currently, a couple of companies including Maisto and Greenlight Collectibles make and sell Ford Bronco diecast models, so it’s no surprise that this new Ford patent appears to preview a diecast version of the high-performance Ford Bronco Raptor. Interestingly, the artwork depicting this future model does not include the spare tire that the Bronco Raptor (and every other Bronco model) carries on its tailgate, however. The smaller, toy version of the Bronco Raptor will also join a number of other recently-released...
Ford Adds Additional Accessories To Bronco Raptor Configurator
Ford has updated the Bronco Raptor build and price configurator with some new accessory options. Most of the new accessory options are still missing images and some information, but there are some interesting new options such as 18 inch Black Machine Faced Wheels that we are curious about. So just when you thought you had your budget set for the new Bronco Raptor, there are even more accessories to tempt you now! Thanks for the tip @DdYHrse !
Bronco Raptor Anti-Lag System came from the Ford GT Race Car
The Bronco Raptor's 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 features an anti-lag turbocharger system with tech pulled directly from the Ford GT race car. In order to better understand how this system works, Road & Track sat down with Bronco Raptor Powertrain and Chassis Engineering Manager Pat Morgan. An anti-lag system for turbocharged vehicles helps to reduce the amount of time it takes for the turbos to deliver boost. There are several different approaches out there as far as what these systems look like and how they function. That said, every anti-lag system requires some form of air bypass. The 3.0-liter’s anti-lag set-up utilizes a throttle bypass in particular, adopting the patented technology that Ford previously employed on its GT race cars...
Bronco Raptor goes public at the Chicago Auto Show
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor has finally made its first-ever public debut at 2022 Chicago Auto Show! Until now, there has only been footage and photos provided by Ford and select media outlets. While Ford still has yet to release the final HP numbers, we know the 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 will at least pump out 400. Some of the other features include Raptor HOSS 4.0 race-ready suspension, a fully-boxed, high-strength steel frame, and 37-12.5-inch BFG KO2 all-terrain tires, and optional bead-lock wheels. I sure hope they bring it to the Dallas Auto show next month!
Introducing Bronco Raptor Forum Darkmode!
We would like to introduce a new style to the Bronco Raptor Forum! Due to popular demand, and some users having to wear sunglasses to combat the bright background of the current site style, we've been hard at work creating a new "Dark Mode" version of the forum. You'll also notice several new "Bronco Raptor" graphics have been incorporated into the design. This is still a work in progress, so if you have any issues, please let us know. There are two ways to access the new design. You can click on the "Moon" next to the search button at the top, or click on the "change style" at the bottom of the website.
