The Ford Bronco is testing on the road in Dearborn, Michigan, and this one is wearing fairly light camouflage. The concealment amounts to a wrap over the body. The dark green body panels are partially exposed. The photos highlight the massive size of fender flares. It looks like they stick out a couple of inches from the body. The SUV rides on BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. The shots aren't clear enough to discern the size along the sidewall. There are also vents in the bodywork above the flares. The ride height is significantly higher than a standard Bronco. While the pieces aren't easily visible, there are clearly suspension modifications for lifting the SUV. A teaser video showing the model on an off-road course makes it look...
In a recent Ford Email sent to Bronco customers discussing the 2022 model year ordering process Ford mentions a new detail about the Bronco Raptor. "New Special Edition and limited-production offerings, like the Bronco Raptor SUV (Available in summer of 2022) Now, take this for what it is. Ford's version of "available" and reality haven't been on the same page the last couple of years. However, Ford now seems to be catching up with production and appears to be on top of the supply chain issues. I'm still thinking we have an official Q1 announcement, order banks up in up Q2, shipments begin late summer or first part of Q3. 🤞
The Bronco Raptor, available in the summer of 2022, is rumored to be equipped with a V-6 EcoBoost engine upgraded from the base offering. If this rumor is true and shares the same level of improved horsepower of the F-150 Raptor, you could expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 horsepower! Sitting on 37s, the Bronco Raptor is taller from the factory than any of the current 6-gen Broncos, and keeping with the trademark Raptor stance, much wider. Beefed up suspension and the iconic, and often copied front grille with the amber lights and more aggressive exterior styling. Source - bronconation
Yes, really, Ford will build and sell small numbers of these Not content with showing off a bunch of modified versions of its lineup at SEMA, Ford has decided to introduce the most outrageous 2022 Ford Bronco you'll be able to buy: the Ford Bronco DR. The "DR" stands for "Desert Runner," which is exactly what the truck is built for. It's intended for the Baja 1000 with a V8 and Multimatic spool-valve shocks among other things, and you can have one. Yes, unlike road-going Broncos, the DR gets the 5.0-liter Coyote V8. Exact output hasn't been announced yet, but Ford says it will make more than 400 horsepower, which seems more than doable. It's paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission and transfer case from the Ford F-150. At...
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport made its debut at last year’s Rebelle Rally, a grueling off-road race open to women only that doesn’t allow any sort of modern navigation methods – only a compass, provided maps, and a roadbook. All three Bronco Sport teams finished the race and one took home the win in the X-Cross class, which is dedicated to unibody crossovers, an effort that the Bronco Sport team repeated this year. This year, it was joined by the 2021 Ford Bronco team of professional driver Shelby Hall and experienced navigator Penny Dale, who piloted their two-door Bronco to fourth place in the 4×4 Class. The Motor1.com 2021 Star Awards included two of the most highly rated rugged vehicles from this year: the Ford Bronco and the Ram 1500 TRX. Both of these hotly anticipated off-roaders scored well in their initial testing, and they decided to round them up in one place to compete for the title of Best Adventure Vehicle. While the Bronco and TRX have wildly different missions, there’s no denying that both are capable of getting a group of friends out into the wild for camping, outdoor activities, and some much-needed R&R. Looks like we will have to wait until the early part of 2022 to get more details on the Bronco Raptor. The new Bronco Raptor is going to be classified as a Special Edition and as you can see from the 2022 Bronco timeline that Ford release recently, the Special Editions won't be announced until sometime in Q1 of 2022. Hopefully, Ford will share a few more teasers of the new Bronco Raptor in the meantime.
No information yet about the 2022 Bronco Raptor Special Edition, but here are the model year changes for the Bronco.
Car and Driver's illustration of the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor. They indicate it will have a "Ford" script on the grille much like the F-150 Raptor, a wider track with available 37-inch tires, Fox dampers from the Raptor truck, and it's expected to use a 450-hp twin-turbo V-6. They also mention the Bronco Raptor will be on sale by the end of next year as a 2023 model starting in the mid-$60,000 range.
